Birth*William, son of William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, was born on 21 September 1839 in Tennessee.2,3
Census1840William is probably the male under age 5 listed in the household of his father, William Robert Harvey Mack, in the 1840 Federal Census of Maury Co., Tennessee.4

Marriage*His first marriage was to Mary E. Matthews on 30 January 1867 at Maury Co., Tennessee. My preliminary research suggests their children were Zuela B "Zula" (c1868- , m1 Fnu Smith, m2 William Dewitt Scott 1918 Santa Barbara), Leila "Lulu" (1870-1933, m1 Wm Philipp Hardin 1892 Maury Co, m2 Thomas J Wilson), and Samuel L Mack (c1872- ). Birth*John, son of William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, was born in November 1840 in Maury Co., Tennessee.3,4
Census1850John appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Dist. 8, Maury Co., Tennessee in the household of his parents, William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, as 9 yo John B Mack.4
Census1860John appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Dist. 8, Maury Co., Tennessee in the household of his parents, William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, as 19 yo John B Mack.5
Marriage*He probably married Sarah Katherine "Kate" Hunn on 1 January 1870 at Collin Co., Texas. My preliminary research suggests their children were Lee (1870-1884), Ada (1874-1959, m. Fnu Poor, who pre-deceased her), Mary M (1878-1903, d. of typhoid fever), June (1879-1962, m. Hugh Lenoir Clark), and George F Mack (1883-1940, m. Annie Myra Sturges 1912).
This marriage record requires either Sarah's maiden name to have been Richardson rather than Hunn, or that she had previously m1 Fnu Richardson. The latter is the more likely as her children's death records generally list Sarah Hunn as their mother.6,7,8
Census1870*John and Sarah appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Pct. 1, Collin Co., Texas, enumerated 16 September 1870, as 28 yo farmer John & 27 yo Sarah Mack. 58 yo Polly Hunn, perhaps Sarah's mother, lives two doors above with three chldren. John's parents live three doors below with four of his siblings.9
Census1880John and Sarah appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Pct. 1, Collin Co., Texas, enumerated 15 June 1880, as 38 yo farmer J B & 37 yo wife S S Mack. Their children 10 yo Lee, 7 yo Ada, 3 yo dau M, and 1 yo June Mack were listed as living with them.10

Burial*He was buried at Horn Cemetery in McKinney, Collin Co., Texas. Find A Grave contributor notes she believes this is the most logical place of burial for Jack Mac, but has found no headstone.3

Birth*James, son of William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, was born in 1847 in Tennessee. Consensus seems to be his middle name was Harvey but I've have found no primary evidence for it.2,3
Census1850James appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Dist. 8, Maury Co., Tennessee in the household of his parents, William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, as 4 yo James H Mack.3

Census1850Mary appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Dist. 8, Maury Co., Tennessee in the household of her parents, William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, as 2 yo Mary E Mack.6
Census1860Mary appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Dist. 8, Maury Co., Tennessee in the household of her parents, William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, as 11 yo Mary E Mack.7
Marriage*She married Thomas Henry Emerson on 30 July 1868 in Collin Co., Texas. My preliminary research suggests their children were Thomas Darius (1869-1899, m. Leona A Wells), Frank W (1871-1926, m. Lillie Lnu), Margie Ann (1874-1875), Robert Henry (1876-1942, m. Ludie Bell Zion 1898 at Denison), Mack (1878-1902, m. Jessie Barnes 1901 in Collin Co.), Carie Elizabeth (1881-1947, m. Lee Roy Moody Anderson 1901 in Hunt Co.), Walter Caruth Sr. (1883-1960, m. Ruby Chism ca. 1907, widower at death), and Mary Emerson (1885-1913, m. Oliver Hedgecoxe Sliff (or Cliff or Gliff), divorced by 1910).8,9,5
Census1870*Mary and Thomas appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of McKinney, Collin Co., Texas, enumerated 11 October 1870, as 28 yo merchant Thomas & 21 yo Mary Emmerson. Their 0.8 yo son Thomas Emerson was listed as living with them. Also in the home was 21 yo Robert Emerson and a cook.10
Census1880Mary and Thomas appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of McKinney, Collin Co., Texas, enumerated 3 June 1880, as 39 yo banker T H & 31 yo wife M E Emerson. The following sons were listed as living with them: 11 yo T D, 8 yo F W, 5 yo R Henry, and 2 yo Mack Emerson.11
Census1900Mary and Thomas appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of McKinney, Collin Co., Texas, enumerated 6 June 1900, as 59 yo banker T H & 51 yo wife Mollie Emerson. The following sons & daughters were listed as living with them: 21 yo Mack, 16 yo Walter, and 14 yo Mary Mack. Mollie shows 8 born with 6 living.2
Residence*Mary resided in McKinney, Collin Co., Texas, on 7 May 1903, as Mrs. T. H. Emerson.12
Census1910*Mary appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of McKinney, Collin Co., Texas, enumerated 16 April 1910, as 58 yo widow Mary E Emerson. Her 23 yo divorced daughter Mary E Stiff was living with her as well as Mary's two children, 4 yo Thomas H, and 2 yo Edwin O Stiff. Four boarders were also in the home.13
ResidenceMary resided in McKinney, Collin Co., Texas, on 25 March 1914, as Mrs. T H Emerson.14
Census1920Mary appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of McKinney, Collin Co., Texas, enumerated 10 January 1920, as 66 yo widow Mary E Emerson. Her grandchildren, 14 yo Thomas H, and 12 yo Edwin O Stiff were listed as living with her. This is a challenging enumeration. Just above Mary is 31 yo Tom L May. His entry has the dwelling number of 172. There are six family numbers (227-232) in this one dwelling. Tom actually has the 227 family number, not Mary, though both are listed as HOH. Just below Mary is her son 48 yo Frank W Emerson, Frank's wife Lillie and their son Francis W Emerson. There's a 35 yo female Effa Mack, as HOH, just below Frank. Effa may be Effie Mack, dau of Henry Clay & Julia Mack. Her age is a bit low but everyone seems to be aging slowly in this family.15
Death*Mary died on 31 July 1933 at 120 S. Kentucky in McKinney, Collin Co., Texas, at age 84, of chronic endocarditis and colon cancer.4,5
Burial*She was buried at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Collin Co., Texas. Joint headstone photo & an extensive obit available at Find A Grave. The bio is not available at Newspapers.com as of 26 Oct 2021.5

Birth*Calvin, son of William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, was born on 25 April 1851 in McCains, Maury Co., Tennessee.1
Census1860Calvin appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Dist. 8, Maury Co., Tennessee in the household of his parents, William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, as 9 yo C L Mack.3
Census1870Calvin appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Pct. 1, Collin Co., Texas in the household of his parents, William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, as 19 yo Lee Mack.4
Marriage*His first marriage was to Sarah Estelle Perry on 23 December 1873. This date per Find A Grave but so far unsupported by primary evidence. 16 born with 9 living in the 1900 census.
My preliminary research suggests their children were Minnie Lee (1876- , m. Horace Franklin Test 1904, res. Collin Co. 1914 as Mrs. Horace Test), Robert Paschal (1877- , res. Collin Co. 1914), Willis Roy "Boss" (1879- , res. Collin Co. 1914), Calvin Perry "Pug" (1881-1925, res. Collin Co. 1914), Lucy Estelle (1884-1945, m. Will Brackney, res. Collin Co. 1914 as Mrs. Will Brackney), Lewis Young (1889-1947, m. Elizabeth "Bessie" Massey (1893-1940), res. Collin Co. 1914), William Dalton "Donny" (1891- , res. Collin Co. 1914), Thomas Everett (1893-1970, res. Collin Co. 1914), and Albert Sidney Johnston Mack (1895- , res. Collin Co. 1914).5,6

Residence*Calvin resided in Princeton, Collin Co., Texas, on 7 May 1903.9
Marriage*His second marriage was to Ella Smith on 9 March 1909 at Collin Co., Texas. I considered that 'Ella' might be a diminutive of 'Estelle' and these two wives of Calvin were in fact the same person. But Estelle died in 1908 and Ella shows up with Calvin in the 1910 census, both parties in their 2nd marriage. The C L Mack - Ella Smith marriage record is in exactly the right place at the right time.10,11
Census1910*Calvin and Ella appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Justice Pct. 1, Collin Co., Texas, enumerated 23 April 1910, as 58 yo farmer Collin L & 54 yo wife Ella Mack. Calvin's sons Dalton W and Albert S Mack, both by his first marriage, were listed as living with them. This is m2 for both Calvin & Ella. Ella has 6 born with 3 living from her prior marriage.11

MotherMargaret Ann Campbell2,1 b. 28 Jan 1822, d. 19 Jul 1897
Last Edited15 Oct 2022
Birth*Edward, son of William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, was born in 1854 in Maury Co., Tennessee.3
Census1860Edward appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Dist. 8, Maury Co., Tennessee in the household of his parents, William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, as 5 yo E Y Mack.4
Census1870Edward appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Pct. 1, Collin Co., Texas in the household of his parents, William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, as 16 yo Young Mack.5
Census1880Edward appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of McKinney, Collin Co., Texas in the household of his parents, William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, as 24 yo son E Y Mack.6
Census1900*Edward appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Justice Pct. 6, Cooke Co., Texas, as 44 yo boarder Edward G (Y) Mack in the household of Mollie Daniels. He is single, a painter, b. TN with both parents born TN.7
Census1910Edward appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Justice Pct. 6, San Patricio Co., Texas, enumerated 20 April 1910, as 54 yo single! self-employed painter Edward Y Mack.8
Marriage*He married Louise Lnu from 20 April 1910 to 9 January 1920. Date range bracketed by the 1910 and 1920 censuses. Their FSTrees entry (ID 9HHK-82M, for instance) gives a date of 28 May 1916 without source citation. Based on a 14 yo daughter in the 1920 census the year should be ca. 1906 unless Kenita is by a different wife. It's puzzling that Young is listed as single in the 1910 census. My preliminary research suggests their children were Kenita? (c1906- , b. OK), and Olcie (Elsie?) Mack (c1909- , b. AR).9
Residence*Edward resided in Oklahoma on 25 March 1914.10
Census1920Edward and Louise appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Gainsville, Cooke Co., Texas, enumerated 9 January 1920, as 64 yo painter Young & 42 yo Louise Mack. Two daughters, 14 yo Kenita(?) and 11 yo Olcie (Elsie?) were listed as living with them. Kenita b. OK, Elsie b. AR. Where were they and their mother in the 1910 census?9
Death*Edward died in 1924 in Gainsville, Cooke Co., Texas. Find A Grave claims he died in Collin County but his death records at FamilySearch say Gainsville, Cooke County. Informant on his death certificate was his nephew F W Emerson.11,12,3
Burial*He was buried at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Collin Co., Texas. Headstone photo available at Find A Grave.3

Julia A. Perry1,2

F, #9078, b. between 1841 and 1842, d. 10 November 1911
Last Edited6 Apr 2023
Birth*Julia was born between 1841 and 1842 in Tennessee. Her Find A Grave memorial no. 210114386 claims a birthdate of 10 Nov 1841 in Lawrence, TN, a death date of 10 Nov 1911 in Tarrant, TX, and burial at Pecan Grove Cemetery, all without headstone or citation. It gives her name as Julia Ann Elizabeth Emily Perry Mack.
Her entry in the Adelphi Tree at Ancestry has an image of her death certificate (which I've been unable to find elsewhere) as Mrs. Julia Mack. It confirms 10 Nov 1841 TN and 10 Nov 1911 in Fort Worth, maiden name Perry.3,2
Marriage*She married Henry Clay Mack Sr., son of William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, on 20 December 1866 in Maury Co., Tennessee. My preliminary research suggests their children were Julia (1867-1873), Wm James (1869-1887), Elizabeth M (1870-1887), Lilly (1871- , m. Fnu Fouts), Ethlene (1876-1876), Halton (1876-1877), Effie (1878- ), Florence (1880-1882), Clay Jr (1874-1919), and an infant unnamed.4,5,1
Census1870*Julia and Henry appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Dist. 5, Rutherford Co., Tennessee, enumerated 8 August 1870, as 28 yo school teacher H C & 28 yo Julie A Mack. Their three children 2 yo Julie, 1 yo W J, and 0.3 yo E M Mack were listed as living with them. Also in the home was 14 yo Sarah Perry and two black servants. Perhaps Sarah is sister to Julia.2
MoveJulia and Henry moved their residence from Rutherford Co., TN to Collin Co., TX on 25 September 1873.5
Census1880Julia and Henry appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Pct. 1, Collin Co., Texas, enumerated 26 June 1880, as 37 yo farmer H C & 37 yo wife J A Mack. Their children 11 yo son W J, 10 yo dau E M, 8 yo dau Lillie, 6 yo son Clay, 2 yo dau Ellie, and 0.2 yo dau F Mack were listed as living with them.6
Census1900Julia and Henry appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of McKinney, Collin Co., Texas, enumerated 9 June 1900, as 59 yo lawyer H C & 59 yo wife Julia Mack. Their children 26 yo Lillie, 24 yo Clay, and 21 yo Effie Mack were listed as living with them.7
Census1910*Julia appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of McKinney Ward 1, Collin Co., Texas, enumerated 16 April 1910, as 67 yo Julia Mack. Her 28 yo dau Effie Mack was listed as living with her. Julia's marriage column originally had M1, but someone has overwritted W, so it's unclear what her status should really be. Henry allegedly didn't die until 1919 so she should be M1.8
Death*Julia died on 10 November 1911 in Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas.9
Burial*She was buried in McKinney, Collin Co., Texas.9

Birth*Mary was born on 10 May 1843. I'm not certain this is our Mary but she seems quite likely. Only concern is why her surname is Matthews rather than Mack.2
Marriage*She married William Robert Campbell Mack, son of William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, on 30 January 1867 in Maury Co., Tennessee. My preliminary research suggests their children were Zuela B "Zula" (c1868- , m1 Fnu Smith, m2 William Dewitt Scott 1918 Santa Barbara), Leila "Lulu" (1870-1933, m1 Wm Philipp Hardin 1892 Maury Co, m2 Thomas J Wilson), and Samuel L Mack (c1872- ). Census1870*Mary and William appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Dist. 8, Maury Co., Tennessee, enumerated 29 July 1870, as 30 yo farmer W R C & 26 yo Mary Mack. Two females, likely daughters, were listed as living with them: 2 yo Z B, and 0.2 yo Lula Mack. A house servant and cook were also in the household. Living next door below is 48 yo Sam Matthews and wife Ann, possibly parents or brother to Mary.3
Death*Mary died on 13 February 1875 in Texas at age 31.2
Burial*She was buried at Matthews Cemetery in Southport, Maury Co., Tennessee. Inscription per Find A Grave reads "died in Texas Feb 13, 1875".2

Sarah Katherine "Kate" Hunn1,2

F, #9081, b. 1841, d. 21 June 1906
Last Edited25 Oct 2021
Birth*Sarah was born in 1841 in Kentucky.3,2
Marriage*She probably married John Blair "Jack" Mack, son of William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, on 1 January 1870 at Collin Co., Texas.
The latter is the more likely as her children's death records generally list Sarah Hunn as their mother.4,5,6
Census1870*Sarah and John appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Pct. 1, Collin Co., Texas, enumerated 16 September 1870, as 28 yo farmer John & 27 yo Sarah Mack. 58 yo Polly Hunn, perhaps Sarah's mother, lives two doors above with three chldren. John's parents live three doors below with four of his siblings.2
Census1880Sarah and John appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Pct. 1, Collin Co., Texas, enumerated 15 June 1880, as 38 yo farmer J B & 37 yo wife S S Mack. Their children 10 yo Lee, 7 yo Ada, 3 yo dau M, and 1 yo June Mack were listed as living with them.7
Census1900Sarah and John appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Justice Pct. 1, Collin Co., Texas, enumerated 30 June 1900, as 60 yo farmer Jack B & 59 yo wife Catherine Mack. Their children 23 yo Mary, 21 yo June, and 17 yo George Mack were listed as living with them.8

Ella Smith1,2

F, #9085, b. circa 1856
Last Edited14 Oct 2022
Birth*Ella was born circa 1856 in Kentucky.2
Marriage*She married Rev. Calvin Lee Mack, son of William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, on 9 March 1909 in Collin Co., Texas. I considered that 'Ella' might be a diminutive of 'Estelle' and these two wives of Calvin were in fact the same person. But Estelle died in 1908 and Ella shows up with Calvin in the 1910 census, both parties in their 2nd marriage. The C L Mack - Ella Smith marriage record is in exactly the right place at the right time.1,2
Census1910*Ella and Calvin appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Justice Pct. Ella has 6 born with 3 living from her prior marriage.2

Louise Lnu1

F, #9087, b. circa 1878, d. before 1925
Last Edited3 Oct 2022
Birth*Louise was born circa 1878 in Arkansas.1
Marriage*She married Edward Young Mack, son of William Robert Harvey Mack and Margaret Ann Campbell, from 20 April 1910 to 9 January 1920. AR).1
Census1920*Louise and Edward appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Gainsville, Cooke Co., Texas, enumerated 9 January 1920, as 64 yo painter Young & 42 yo Louise Mack. Two daughters, 14 yo Kenita(?) and 11 yo Olcie (Elsie?) were listed as living with them. Kenita b. OK, Elsie b. AR. Where were they and their mother in the 1910 census?1
Death*Louise died before 1925, date based on husband Young being listed as widower on his death certificate of 1924.2

Birth*John, son of John J. "Squire" Campbell and Julia Johanna Mack, was born on 5 November 1841 in Tennessee. His middle name was enumerated 'Armine' in the 1850 census and both Ancestry and FSTrees have hung their hat on that and make it his middle name. Armenius, a long-time family name, is much more likely. I've found no other record that uses anything but the intiial 'A'.4,5
Census1850John appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Dist. 7, Maury Co., Tennessee in the household of his parents, John J. "Squire" Campbell and Julia Johanna Mack, as 7 yo Armine.5
Census1860John appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Wilson Twp., Greene Co., Missouri in the household of his parents, John J. "Squire" Campbell and Julia Johanna Mack, as 18 yo John A Campbell.6
Census1870John appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Clay Twp., Greene Co., Missouri in the household of his parents, John J. "Squire" Campbell and Julia Johanna Mack, as 29 yo John Campbell.7
Marriage*He married Rachel Cordelia Mooneyham on 4 November 1875 in Greene Co., Missouri. My preliminary research suggests their children were Julia Ellen (1876-1957, res. Webb City (or Carterville), MO 1909 as Mrs. Julia Garten), John Wesley (1878-1947, res. near Battlefield, MO 1909, widower in 1930 census), George W (1879-1936, res. near Battlefield, MO 1909, single in 1930 census), William J (1880-1881), Ulysses G (1885-1890), and Fanny Campbell (a1881-a1908, m. Omas D Elliott 1899 Greene Co, res. Duenweg, MO 1909 as Mrs. Fannie Earles (per father's obit of 12 Nov 1909) and as Mrs. Fannie Elliott (per mother's application to be appointed administratrix of her dec'd husband's estate of 02 Dec 1909)). Fanny was born after the 1880 census and married before the 1900 census so is missing in the family's enumerations. The marriage to Omas Elliott is not certain but based on strong circumstantial evidence.8,9,4
Census1880*John and Rachel appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Wilson Twp., Greene Co., Missouri, enumerated 3 June 1880, as 38 yo farmer Jno A & 26 yo wife Rachel C Campbell. Their daughter 4 yo daughter Juli E, sons 2 yo Jno W, 0.5 yo Geo W, and 0.5 yo Wm J Campbell were listed as living with them.10
Census1900John and Rachel appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Wilson Twp., Greene Co., Missouri, enumerated 5 June 1900, as 58 yo farmer John W & 44 yo wife Rachel C Campbell. Their children 22 yo John W and 20 yo George W Campbell were listed as living with them.11
Death*John died on 11 November 1909 at his home in 4 miles west of Battlefield, Greene Co., Missouri, at age 68, of blood poisoning & pneumonia subsequent to amputation of his right arm several days prior.2,4
Burial*He was buried on 12 November 1909 at Patterson Cemetery in Springfield, Greene Co., Missouri. Find A Grave provides photo of joint headstone with wife R C Campbell.2,4
Estate-AdminHis administration of estate began on 4 December 1909 at Greene Co., Missouri. Rachel applied to be named administratrix of John's estate on 02 Dec and it was granted on 04 Dec.12,13,14
