My preliminary research suggests their children were Jimmie Imogene McKee (1913-1999, m. I T Carr 1931 in Clovis, NM; res. Fullerton, CA 1947), Boonie Audrey McKee (1916-2009, m. Otis Clyde Blair 1934 in Merkel, TX; res. Levelland 1947), Ruth Mildred McKee (1919-2009, m. Samuel Bert Barry 1936 in Ropesville, TX; res. Amarillo 1947), Gwena June McKee (1921-2012, m. Hulon Lude Moreland 1938 in Levelland, TX; res. Levelland 1947), Opal Jackie McKee (1923-2016, m. Tollie Lewis Stephenson 1939; res. Lubbock 1947), and Eugene Blocker "Gene" McKee (1925-1997, res. Ropesville 1947; m. Billie Ruth Hewlett 1948).      Porter's surname on her death certificate is Curtsinger which suggests another marriage after McKee's death. She's a widow in this document so presumably Curtsinger had also passed away.4,1,2

My preliminary research suggests their children were Juanita Chloe McKee (1907-1980, b. NM, m. Roy Scrimsher), Mary Gwendolyn McKee (1910-1984) and Clyde Wilford McKee (1916-1969, b. TX, m. Mary Louise Rowell 1936).1

Birth*	Sophronia was born in 1874 in Arkansas. In the 1930 census she claims to be 50 yo, born in Arkansas.1,2
Marriage*	She married James Bailey McKee Sr., son of William H. McKee and Emma Anderson, from 3 February 1920 to 10 April 1930. James is with m1 Dovie in the 1920 census, with m2 Sophronia in the 1930.      Sophronia's prior married name is unknown. Various obits suggest she may have had the following children, dau 1 (c1903- , perhaps m. Harry Hayes, res. Altus 1935), dau 2 (, perhaps m. John Johnson, res.Knoxville 1935), Claude Smith ( -a1942, res. Altus, OK 1943) and Gerald Smith ( -a1942, res. Altus, OK 1943).1

BioNote*	Biography Note of 25 July 2024:      Ancestry's Master Family Tree claims her maiden name was Richardson. The only evidence provided is a marriage record from Indiana for a couple with these names. I've seen no evidence Sam ever left Texas until the move to California in the 1930s.      In the 1930 census Mary's mother is a 52 yo widow surname Jackson, living with Sam & Mary. This is the best bet in my opinion.      Her husband Sam's FamilySearch Trees entry (ID GZXZ-1K4) claims her name was May Frances Wines. The only possibly supporting evidence is that May's surname was Smith on her death certificate. The 1940 census provided by FamilySearch Trees lists May as a widow, but Sam didn't die until 1942. I think we can throw this one out.
