Their children as verified by the censues were Clara Ann, George Everett, Josiah Willard, Ada May and Franklin B Culp. As noted above there were apparently four others.3,2,4

My preliminary research suggests their children, other than those entered in the dB, were Perry Bailey (c1867- ), William Bailey (c1871- ), and Newton Bailey (c1876- ).3,4,5,6

LCDD-9D3 for Mary Jane Limberger) claims 01 Jan 1875 w/o citation. My preliminary research suggests their only child was George L Downey (1876-1907).1

Census1870Lewis appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Cass Twp., Ohio Co., Indiana in the household of his parents, William W. Downey and Elizabeth Lewis, as 19 yo Lewis.4 
Marriage*His first marriage was to Azora A. Bascom on 29 July 1874 at Indiana. My preliminary research suggests their children were Howard Lee (1875-1942, m. Nellie Grant Tinker), and Cora Belle (1877-1952, m. Joseph Ranson) Downey.
The license date apparently 23 July.5,6 
Census1880*Lewis and Azora appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Cass Twp., Ohio Co., Indiana, enumerated 11 June 1880, as 28 yo farmer Louis & 30 yo wife Zora Downey. Their 5 yo son Howard L, and 3 yo daughter Corry B Downey were listed as living with them.7 
Census1900Lewis and Azora appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Salem, Washington Co., Indiana, enumerated 12 June 1900, as 49 yo agent Lewis & 52 yo wife Azora Downey. Their daughter 23 yo Belle Ransom and her husband 27 yo Joseph Ransom, as son-in-law, were listed as living with them.8 
Marriage*His second marriage was to Mary Addie Gilliatt on 2 April 1904 at Indiana. My preliminary research suggests their only child was Lillian F Downey (c1904- ).9 
Census1910*Lewis and Mary appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Harbison Twp., Dubois Co., Indiana, enumerated 25 April 1910, as 59 yo hotel & livery stable manager Lewis & 28 yo wife Mary A Downey. Their 5 yo daughter Lillian F Downey was listed as living with them.10 
Marriage*His third marriage was to Nora Mae Craig on 14 March 1920 at Scottsburg, Scott Co., Indiana. License date was 12 Mar. Nora m1 Charlie T (or L) Deal on 07 Sep 1877 in Scott County.1,11,12,13
